HOLY SATURDAY

11 1/2 x 16 1/2 acrylic/collage

In some ways this art piece expresses the feelings I was experiencing on Holy Saturday ... it felt like I was in a liminal space waiting and not not even being able to imagine all the mysteries that were taking place behind that stone.

For the Joy Set Before Him

WATERCOLOR 22″x 30″ 1994 Two in the Limited edition are available as a lithograph, signed and numbered.

Homage to Matthias Grunewald, Isenheim Altarpiece

This work was conceived in Tahiti in 1992 and completed during Easter 1994.

On these Islands, the men frequently wear leis on their heads at times of celebration.

The vision I had was of Christ bursting from the cross from darkness into light, from sorrow to joy.  Instead of a crown of thorns, he wore a crown of flowers.  The other side of the cross represents the presence of the Lord.

Hebrews 12:2… who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
